MBA Admission Requirements
Applicants are assessed against UCC’s graduate admission requirements and the academic background required for MBA study.
Standard Entry
- An earned bachelor’s degree from a recognised or accredited institution.
- An undergraduate GPA of 2.0 or above meets the stated GPA requirement.
- Where an applicant’s GPA is below 2.0, completion of the Commonwealth Executive Management Achievement Test (CEMAT) or GMAT is required.
- A working knowledge of English at postgraduate studies level.
- Certain prerequisite courses may be required based on the applicant’s academic background.
Prerequisite Knowledge
A foundation in Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Marketing and Finance is required for MBA matriculation. Applicants who do not have sufficient college-level background or competencies in these areas are required to complete the relevant non-credit UCC prerequisite courses before registration in certain MBA courses.
Required prerequisites are identified on the acceptance letter and are completed online as free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) using links provided by the College of Graduate Studies and Research.
Alternative Entry through Prior Learning Assessment
- An Associate degree.
- At least three years’ work experience in a supervisory position, such as a supervisor, manager or business owner.
- Applicants must be at least 30 years old.
- Evidence of successful completion of the CEMAT requirement.
- Completion of the Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio requirements for graduate programmes.
Admission is subject to document verification and UCC Global approval. Additional documents may be requested after review.
2027 Graduate Intake Periods
Spring Semester runs January–April 2027, Summer Semester runs May–August 2027, and Fall Semester runs September–December 2027. Students may register for a maximum of five courses (15 credits) per semester, and course materials are accessible 24/7 during the semester for which they are registered.
